Full redesign of Steampunk Family, a WordPress based site chronicling one family’s journey into steampunk, including projects and original fiction.

Spellbound Project Activities:

  • Creation of wireframes of desired changes to interface.
  • Refine site IA to improve navigation while not requiring modifications to existing posts and categories.
  • Identification of short list of possible themes, recommendation of Caltropis theme to support desired functionality.
  • Installation and configuration of Caltropis theme and all supporting images.
  • Selection and installation of assorted plugins, including Flickr based sidebar slideshow.

The Looney Labs Fan Club is a Ning based online community for fans of Looney Labs games. Launched in December of 2010, I worked closely with the individual responsible for launching the community and provided the following support:

  • Researched and recommended possible community platforms.
  • Assisted in customization of Ning platform. Example: changed ‘blog posts’ into ‘event reports’.
  • Refined IA with community founder
  • Drafted Community Guidelines
  • Brainstormed organization of Groups and Forums

CSectionRecovery.com is a resource for women recovering from cesearan sections. I created this website in 2004, updating it over the years to bring it to the state it is in today. This website is consistently returned at the top of search engine result pages (SERPs) for searches related to c-section and c-section recovery.

Website Statistics:

  • between 400 and 600 unique visitors a day
  • 2009: 170,000+ visitors and 380,000 page views

Discovery News launched in November of 2009. My last major project at Discovery Communications, I contributed the following to this site:

  • Information Architecture: Creation of 3,500 tag vocabulary. Tags are used to generate ‘You Might Also Like’ recommendations for articles (example: article page) as well as to generate dynamic collections of content (example: Tyrannosaurus )
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Topic titles and descriptions, recommendations for improved anchor text, SEO research for new terms added to tag vocabulary

CaseyFeldmanMemories.org is a website dedicated to capturing and preserving memories about Casey Feldman. Casey died July 17, 2009 at the Atlantic City Medical Center from injuries sustained when she was struck by a van in Ocean City, N.J.

The site is built on the Omeka open source platform and integrates Intense Debate to support comments.
